Kolkata: Jorabagan police and traffic guards, along with police Park Girish, met with locals on Thursday, the day before closing Girish-Ganesh Park stretched out for the work of Posta’s Flyover demolition.
The police distributed 30 trajectories between residents to park their cars on track and bylanes around Rabindra Sarani and KK Tagore Street, said the source.
“The number of passes will vary depending on the nature of the work on this stretch,” said an officer.
There will be a zone without parking around a vivekanda overlay along 300 meters after the work starts.
The police have helped residents to get their questions answered by KMDA.
Two parking lots at Vivekananda Road and KK Tagore Street, managed by KMC, will be removed for the next three months.
“The Flyover is located close to a residential building and there might be small damage because of work.
Kmd officials have convinced residents that the Civic Agency will compensate them for such damage,” said a police source.
“The blockade will be implemented after rush hour in the morning.
Because there will be no work until September 1, we don’t want to put any office visitors.
We will complete signs on the road on Saturday morning,” said a traffic guard officer Jorabagan.
