KOLKATA: Snapped overhead cable lines have been lying and hanging dangerously in several areas of Salt Lake after storms at the primary street cut-outs and within the cubes, resulting in inconvenience for drivers to pass by those street cut-outs, particularly during the evening time.
Even the Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation (BMC) civic officials confessed the jumble of overhead cable at Salt Lake has been a major problem that they’ve been attempting to determine for quite a very long time by putting underground cable canals.
“Injuries may happen especially through the nighttime because these snapped overhead cable lines couldn’t be seen correctly at the moment,” explained Sankhadeep Roy Chowdhury, also a resident of AE Block.
“It’s especially inconvenient for drivers after day as any moment this could cause accidents.
A few of them might also be lines.
All these ought to be taken away immediately,” explained Kawshik Dutta, a resident of BD Block.
BMC had previously planned to stick to the NKDA method to establish underground cable canals.
“The subterranean duct program couldn’t be implemented but it’s within our strategy,” stated a BMC official.
