Kolkata: The condition of some parks in the beam in Salt Lake, where Durga Puja is organized every year, being in poor countries with high weeds and creeping plants grow along with damaged swings and slides.
Bidnagar Ward Coordinator Municipal Corporation (BMC) has been asked to clean the park before Puja.
Toi on Wednesday visited a number of parks throughout Salt Lake to check his condition.
Even though there are many well-maintained parks, some need attention immediately.
Some of the Boundary Park HB walls have been damaged and damaged for some time and have not been repaired.
Grass and weeds can be seen too high.
In the adjacent GD GD Garden, the damaged paver block and garbage was discouraged and stacked on the path around the park.
“The civil authority has taken the work of the garden improvement that stopped the middle as garbage and block paver has been stacked in that place,” said members of the Bloc Committee.
In the advertising block park, children’s segments are almost inaccessible with high weeds and creepper and swings and severely damaged slides.
Some plastic packages are also seen lying inside.
Local residents say that most parks have facelifts before the election of this year’s assembly, but have not been maintained since then.
“We clean the portion where Puja Pandal was established but we cannot maintain the maintenance of the garden,” said the President Committee Blok Gd Kumar Shankar Sadhu.
“Most of the parks are well maintained and treated by each of the environmental committees.
Grass and weeds have grown in some because of the monsoon and can be cut with electric grass cutters so rain falls,” said the BMC Administrator Board Chairman Krishna Chakraborty.
