Kolkata saw the highest September rainfall in 13 years

Kolkata: Kolkata recorded the highest rainfall in September in 13 years after the rain was unrelenting in the city of Metropolis and neighboring district since early Monday, because some areas were sinking and transportation services were paralyzed.

Another place that recorded heavy precipitation over a 24-hour period was canning (113.4 mm) and a diamond port (83.6 mm) in 24 South Pargana, and Dum Dum (95 mm) in the northern edge of Kolkata, meeting department data showed.
Salt Lake received a rain of 142.8 mm, he added.
