Kolkata: The market in the city center business district has begun to force the restrictions on merchants and customers to follow the appropriate behavior of Covid to prevent a surge in case and temporary closure.
Some market committees in Burrabazar, Posta, Street, Esplanade, Chandni and Pasar Baru held meetings with their members to discuss the implementation of safety measures on the market.
Market authorities insisted all to wear masks and avoid crowding in stores.
Even the police from the local police station instructed people in Loudhailers.
During the first and second waves, the market must be closed for days because some traders and employees they tested positive covids.
Confederation of West Bengal Trade Association, the APEX Trade Association Agency in Kolkata, on Friday issued an advisor for members to take all possible steps to protect life and livelihoods.
“We have seen what Pandemi did for the first two waves.
We lost so many of our traders.
The others suffer a big loss because of locking and restrictions.
We don’t want it to be repeated.
So it’s important to fight for viruses and do business responsibly.
We have written to our members to implement all safety guidelines recommended by the government, “said Sushil Poddar, President of the Confederation of West Bengal Trade Association.
Markets like Bagree, Satyanarayan AC, Rajakatra, Posta, Nandaramand Chandni have begun to clean their place.
“We are a very busy market and it is impossible to check every individual.
But we regularly polish the shop owner and customers,” said Jamuna Lal Agarwal, a member of the merchant association in the Nandaram Market.
The police have begun to patrol the streets of Burrabazar and Posta.
“We make routine announcements and even distribute masks.
We will punish if they do not follow the appropriate behavior of Covid,” said an officer of the Burrabazar Police Station.
