Kolkata: Senior citizens who are vibrant for the 3rd dose

Kolkata: Senior citizens Ketaki Bhose is one of the many people over 60 years who will take a dose of prevention on the first day of launch on Monday.
Prince Anwar Shah Road Resident has taken his first dose on March 1, the first day of the driving forholstered inoculation for the 60-plus category.
He plans to visit the nearest CVC on Monday for Jab.
Many 60-added recipients who have taken the first dose on March 1 are now eligible for a booster dose.
Most of these people have gained themselves inoculated in the second dose on April 10, making them have a gap needed 39 weeks after the second dose.
“I have followed the news about a booster dose because I want this dose that might continue to protect me at least from getting a severe infection.
I already have hypertension as a comorbidity and therefore I plan to take Jab from a private CVC near my house,” said Swarup Das, A retired engineer from the Central Government Institute.
The gap between two covishield doses in the early days of launch was four to six weeks before the 12 to 16 week revised protocol issued in mid-May.
Many managed to take the second dose at that time.
“Even though I want to take a booster dose I will qualify for it only to the end of February because of the mandatory gap of 39 weeks,” said the former Director of Rural Development with the Arunachal Government Manojan Bhattacharjee.
“We have around 600 senior citizens who meet the requirements that take both doses of our CVC and are eligible for Jab since Monday.
About 60 of them have called a slot.
We have kept 300 slots opened for them on Monday,” said R Venkates Regional Director (East) Health Narayana.
While those who want to pay can complete Jab in a private CVC, the government CVCS will offer free jabs to any senior citizens.
Senior citizens do not need to register again because they have been registered with Co-Win.
“We find out if we get the option to arrange a dose of booster for our senior citizens because some of them don’t want to visit the hospital,” said Dhires Chowdhury, Geriatrician with Banchbo employees for senior citizens.
