Kolkata: Some takers for school buses and pool cars

Kolkata: The demand for school buses and billiard cars is very low on the first day of school reopen for elementary and upper school students.
Most parents try to measure the situation before sending their wards to schools with buses or billiard cars.
Parents prefer to take their wards with a private car or by taxi.
“We are still not too confident to send our children in the pool car.
We don’t know whether the operator cleanses the vehicle or not.
There is no SOP to be followed by vehicle operators like that,” said Supriyo Ghatak, who came to bring his daughter to Vidya Bharati’s school in his own car.
Sanghamitra Basu dropped his daughter, now in class VI, by taxi to Sarada Ashram School New Alipore.
“I had ordered his chair on the school bus, but I was still not too confident to send him on the school bus,” he added.
Most CBSE and ICSE schools do not open for the main part.
“We don’t think that many schools will suddenly open primary parts before the new session.
So, at this time, we receive a booking call from parents.
We have assured them there will be enough vehicles to transport their children,” said Arupam Dutta, Vice President, Bengal Bengal Car Welfare Association.
“Class V-IX and Class IX will need our services for a week-and-half before their final exam.
Not many schools open class I to IV.
We will combine routes and use cars that have run to ferry students,” said Dutta Himadri Ganguly, Secretary, the West Bengal contract operator association, said, “We hope the school will swing back to normal at the end of March or early April.
Before that we will run the service framework.”
