Kolkata: A 35-year-old man was injured when two gang clashed in Palm Avenue in the Karaya area early Wednesday morning.
Police said the injured was identified as Javed’s SK, a local resident.
He has been treated at a local hospital.
He was said to be serious but stable.
In addition to the Southeast Division forces, a large police contingent was deployed from Lalbazar to try and bring a situation under control.
“Two local gangs – one led by Chini Gabbar and the others by Mohd Jaw – were involved in bitter competition for the past few months.
On Wednesday, around 1:15 a.m., Jawed played Carrom on the lane when Gabbar and his men arrived by bicycle .

Even as a fist fight going on, Gabbar and his colleagues suddenly attacked the victim by helicopter.
When the victim began to bleed profusely with an injury deep in the arms, legs and stomach, the accused fled from the place, ” said an officer.
Karaya police have registered a case of murder efforts below Section 25 (1a) from the ARM acting and is investigating this case.
Police sources said Gabbar often played a role in trying to make his rival in the area arrested.
