Kolkata: The day before his marriage, Priyanka Saha’s surgeon underwent a dream that he had been maintained for years – conducting surgery with his father, Saha Makhanlal, was also a surgeon and former operation at the SSKM Hospital.
Duo conducted a complicated operation at the South Kolkata breastfeeding house on Friday.
They join hands to remove mammoth tumors, weigh 10 kilos, from the patient’s stomach.
While Saha retirement formed the SSKM a few months ago, his daughter was undergoing a superspecialist course on Oncosurgery after finishing post-graduating in general operations.
This is Priyanka’s first big operation.
On Saturday night, Priyanka wore a bride had all the reasons to smile.
Operating with his father was a dream that came true, he said.
He, in fact, visited the nursing home to check the patient on Saturday, hours before rushing to a star hotel for a wedding.
“My daughter is super excited and I’m happy that she is with me while we do surgery to save lives.
The patient recovers very well,” Senior Saha said.
Patients, a 45-year-old musician, was treated at Lions Hospital in Ranikiki a few days ago under the Sarkar Diparkar surgeon for removing a tumor called Retroperitoneal Sarkoma.
When the operation was the main, Sarkar roamed at Saha when the last one had helped him carry out a complicated operation before.
Priyanka had made his MBBS from Midanpore Medical College before he went to Mumbai to pursue post-graduation in general operations, his father’s specialty.
He is now undergoing a post-doctoral degree in Onco’s operation from AIIMS Bhubaneshwar and has returned home for his wedding.
When he heard his father discussed the operation, a qualified surgeon did not want to let go of the opportunity to operate with his father.
On Friday morning, he went to Ranikiki Hospital with his father and conducted an operation while Paramita anesthetists and others also contributed.
