Kolkata: The Kolkata police detective department has launched the probe into the alleged fake website that has deceived tourists by offering a fake helicopter vehicle to Digha.
Tourists were cheated through a website claimed that the defendant used the state government symbol to make the service look authentic.
The incident was revealed after the population of 24 North Pargana, Pradeep Haldar, reported this problem to the police recently.
According to Haldar, a few years ago, the State Transportation Department had launched a special helicopter service to Digha.
Flights take off from Aerodrome in Behala.
Flights are also proposed to Malda and Balurghat.
However, services are stopped after a short period.
Seeing that opportunity, fraudsters floated fake agents to offer services that no longer existed.
Haldar was one of the victims who tried to order helicopter tickets through this fake agent.
Haldar and his two friends have tried to book a flight to Dighha and asked to pay Rs 9,000.
Even though he claimed to have made a payment, the ticket did not arrive.
He was then asked to pay Rs 11,000 again in insurance.
When tickets still didn’t arrive, he realized that he had been cheated.
Haldar then complained to cyber cells from the Basirhat police and the anti-fraud section of Kolkata police.
