Kolkata: Special Investigation Team (sitting) investigating false vaccination fraud has recorded more than 50 statements of various witnesses, including Jadavpur MP and Mimi Chakraborty actor.
But that was the two key witnesses, they believed, held the key to prosecution because they were preparing to slap the allegations of murder attempts to the fake IAS Debanjan Deb and his colleagues to arrange a false vaccination camp.
The police have started the process of obtaining court approval needed to record before the Sanjay Mochim statement judge, from whom the IP drug Amikacin Sulphate was reportedly bought by the defendant.
On behalf of his employees, P anjelina Leslie, Deb has opened a fake KMC account at a private bank to channel salary.
According to the source of the police, Mochim and Leslie are expected to record their statements before the Judge (CRPC 164) in the coming week.
“We will get some vaccine recipients also to record their statements before the judge in the long run,” said a police officer.
Mochim refused to comment, stating that the case was being investigated but assured that he would work with the police.
The police have recorded a statement of four public representatives and politicians – actresses and Jadavpur MP Mimi Chakraborty, actress and sonarpur MLA Selatan Indah Maitra, Rajya Sabha MP Shantanu Sen and TMC leader from the Ashok Chakraborty alias Taltala.
The police probe will also take into account the new charges against Deb from Siliguri on Sunday when a merchant claims to have met Deb on a function in Kolkata.
Meanwhile, now it has appeared that Deb not only bought Amikacin Sulphate at Rs 13-77 per bottle but he also saved injection triamcinolone acetonide.
“This is to clarify that we have not found something that shows that steroids are used.
Reports from FSL reports or drug tests have not arrived,” said CP together (crime) Murlidhar Sharma.
