Kolkata: water woes end in garahat environment

Kolkata: Dhrubajyoti Chaudhuri, an Octogenarian and resident of Rashbehari Avenue, sighed.
Chaudhuri’s household experienced an acute water crisis and needed to buy drinking water which was packed for the past few months.
The hit is a Mukhopadhyay Pratip household.
Mukhopadhyay, a resident of Hindustan Park, also suffered because he spent a lot for water from alternative sources.
However, their complaints have been fully full of duos and thousands of other people who live in a large stretch of Rashbehari Avenue, Hindustan Park, Jatin Bagchi Road and Triangular Park now getting adequate water after Kolkata Municipal Corporation replaces a broken 45 years damaged by a leaky underground pipe In some places resulting in a water crisis in this area.
Chaudhuri said he was happy that KMC could replace the broken water pipe in the winter itself because without a new summer pipe it would not be tolerated.
“The rate in which they work and finish work, we are happy that we do not need to suffer the worst in the summer,” Chaudhuri said.
According to an official of the KMC water supply department, witnessing the supply of increasingly thinning into large regions of gifiary and its adjacent environment extended to Triangular Park, Borough Executive Engineer (Borough VIII) has taken the initiative to survey low reasons.
“The survey found the existence of some leaks in the pipe.
Thus, a proposal was sent to the KMC headquarters for pipeline replacement to increase supply.
Finally, we can replace the main pipes of 6 inches and thus the supply has been added,” said a citizenship official.
In addition to replacing the main 6-inch water pipeline, the KMC water supply department has also replaced a 4-inch pipe in several places that supply water into different alleys.
According to the KMC water supply department official, a new pipe will function for four decades and the water crisis will be minimized in a suffering environment because of the acute water crisis.
However, officials posted at the headquarters said the alert was issued with theft of water in the Hindustan-garahatan belt park.
“We have noticed that trader parts and residential building owners attract water from roadside faucets by pulling portable pumps to increase water supply.
Other people who live around such buildings must suffer due to low water pressure.
We must try hard against the perpetrators, “KMC official said.
