Kolkata: Someone does not need to queue on the KMC to apply for birth or death certificate again.
Or to correct errors in it.
Instead, someone must submit a request on the WhatsApp number (8335999111) to order a slot and meet the appointed official at the Civic headquarters to complete the job.
This system will replace the existing ‘Drop Box’ system to apply for birth or death certificate.
According to KMC health department officials, under the drop-box system, thousands of applications were delayed for several months.
The new system will start working from the end of this week, said KMC Boa Chairman Firhad Judge.
“All citizens who need to be done are order slots through WhatsApp and visit the Civil Service Office at once to be allocated by appointed officers who will be assigned to meet applicants and do what is needed after checking valid documents,” said the KMC health department official.
According to a KMC official related to birth wings and death certificates, a new system will bring transparency in the issuance of birth certificates and deaths.
“Residents who in particular need help in cases of error examiners will benefit after the introduction of new services,” said a KMC official.
