Jaipur: The police arrested a 45-year-old woman from Kolkata for allegedly deceiving Rs 10 lakh from a man in Achrol by posing as a UK-based woman.
The police have identified the defendant as one of Soma Saha, a Kolkata resident.
Sho, Chandwaji Police Station, Jitendra Gangwani, said that the woman had floated fraudulent companies under the banner “SS business entity.” The victim has deposited money into the company’s account, he then withdraws money from the ATM.
Gangwani said that Jai Ram (38) had submitted FIR where he alleged that he attacked friendship with a woman based in the UK on the social media website about three years ago.
The woman told Jai Ram that she had sent several expansive gifts such as gold bracelets, branded watches and foreign currencies.
“He tells him that all his prizes accumulate at Delhi airport, wait for different fees and taxes,” he said.
The victim told the police that he paid total Rs 10 lakh in five stages for fraudsters tax and costs such as guarantee costs, courier service fees, money laundering drafts, advocate costs, etc.
He then realized that the payment made for all costs and accusations was simple to measure the words, and in fact, there were no gifts that landed at the airport for him from England.
The sad complainant approached the Chandwaji police station and submitted FIR in 2019.
He also presented a payment history included the name of the defendant’s fraud company.
