Kolkata: With the KMC selection of almost a few days, and Christmas and New Year just round the corner, Kolkata STF police gave a unique presentation to all senior officers to OCS levels on how to thwart terror activities and read signal signs.
Using the actual 26/11 recording, the police are shown how to activate various anti-terror exercises.
Lalbazar said the training was held to make metropolitan police ready for any possibility.
Some Senior Stf officers have just received training on this at the national level.
The presentation by STF was held to share several basic training with colleagues, said sources.
Commissioner of the Partner Soumen present during the presentation.
“While every Mumbai police officer who fought against terrorists that day was Braveheart on duty before all, there were always things to learn from the previous incident.
Such studies about past incidents are not limited to coordinated terror attacks.
This can help study the crime Great whatever.
We can always try to apply the best response based on the latest technology and intelligence.
This is all more important because local police will, most likely, be the first respondent, “said an officer.
“This session is divided into segments and there are CCTVs and video footage of Mumbai’s attack.
Like a coordinated attack, we were told, that the attackers would also be innovating and importantly we stayed one step ahead of them,” another OC said attending the presentation.
The police also use classes to introduce their officers to several equipment that can act as an authentic anti-sabotage tool.
Previously, with a budget around Rs 7.5 Crore, Kolkata police ordered for non-linear intersection detectors (NLJD) and explosive steam detectors (EVD), which will be used by special branches to secure the VVIP zone and also STF to detect plastic explosives in crowded corners.
Lalbazar has decided to get nine EVDs with explosives and improvised material detectors and around RS 2 Crore has been allocated for it.
This can detect military and plastic explosives including TNT, C4, RDX and homemade explosives.
Lalbazar has also issued a tender for seven NLJD at a cost of around Rs 1 Crore.
NLJD detects electronic presence, regardless of whether they radiate, hard cable, or even turned off.
