KOLLAM: Kollam Junction Railway Station will soon be raised to international standards with the addition of commercial complexes, training institutions and other facilities, n K Premachandran MP said in the release.
Having a talks with high South Railway officials at his head office in Chennai, he said the project would be completed before December 2023.
Kollam was one of the 21 train stations in a planned country to increase to international standards.
To complete the project in a timely manner, the wing of the train construction will immediately implement the project.
Of the November 15, the escalator and the second elevator will begin to function at the intersection station Kollam.
MP suggestions to convert Chinese palaces (home breaks built in 1904) at the train station here will be considered.
The general manager of the South Railway has issued instructions in this matter.
Premachandran also said he had received guarantees from the train authority that all train services would be restored because they were pre-covid.
The steps will be taken to resolve difficulties from season ticket passengers.
However, the train authority said it would be difficult to change special trains to regularly until now because the Covid situation still continued in the state.
The electrification route Kollam-Punjam will be completed before March 31, 2022.
The steps will also be made to enter the electrification process of the route on the Sengottai route in additional grants which will be presented in the parliamentary winter session.
The request for converting the gathering station as the Sabarimala Pilgrim station will also be considered.
Charging facilities for trains will be arranged in punolo.
