JAIPUR: at least six armed assailants opened fire to a gentleman in Sabzi Mandi place under Gumanpura police channel of Kota on Monday.
On the other hand, the dealer handling food grains and veggies had a narrow escape because the assailants missed their goal.
The entire episode was recorded at a CCTV camera of a local store.
According to authorities, the incident happened at 11am after three of those six assailants arrived outside the store belonging to Kailash Meena.
“Each of the three required his name and if Meena came out, among the assailants started five rounds of passion.
Fortunately, he was unhurt,” explained a senior police officer of Gumanpura police station region when speaking to TOI about the telephone.
Meena is a commission broker that deals in fruits, veggies and food grains in the mandi.
The businessman advised the authorities he does not have any competition or dispute with anybody and revealed his ignorance about identification of some of their assailants.
Since the assailants overlooked their goal that they were able to flee in the scene about two bicycles.
Shortly after the incident the victim intimated the police charge area along with a group of senior police officers hurried to the place.
“Six armed assailants have arrived, and they’d five rounds.
On the grounds of all CCTV footage available different groups are still working to follow them.
Any clear reason for the assault on the businessman isn’t yet understood,” the officer added.
When contacted, Vikas Pathak, superintendent of police, Kota, stated,”It’s understood that the victim had a challenge at 2007 with a guy named as Liyaqat.
However, if that attack is connected to this is yet to be known.
We’ve identified each of the six assailants and we are going to make potential arrests within this link.
Meena has a reputation of being violent by all his fellow traders and many others,” Pathak added.
