Coimbatore: The forestry department on Tuesday closed Kovai Kutrada waterfall due to heavy rains in Western Ghats.
The Ministry of Forestry has stated that waterfalls will be opened for tourists and the community after the water flow is reduced.
Kovai Kutrada waterfall has seen the flow of large water in the last two days.
District forest officers, the Coimbatore Forest Division, T K ASHOK KUMAR has ordered to close the waterfall for tourists.
The forest department official said that some tourists have booked online to visit Kovai Kutradaam.
“We have stopped booking online and will return the amount to each tourist,” said the assistant for the forest conservator M Senthilkumar.
