Hyderabad: Stretching the Krishna River in Telangana is polluted by 15 million liters per day (MLD) wastewater from five cities along it.
Following the recent orders of the National Green Tribunal (NGT), the state has now proposed a plan of action to build a waste treatment plant (STPS), a sturdy waste processing unit (MSW) and bio-mining to curb pollution.
NGT orders were issued on July 28 to apply solid waste management rules.
“There are five local urban agencies (ULB), Gadwal, Nature, IEEKA, Kollapur and Mactath, under the stretch of the Krishna River.
About 55 tons per day (TPD) solid waste is also produced from this ULB.
About 25.8 tons of waste processed at Composting centers, “said the country in his report to NGT.
130 ULB has been divided into nine clusters – 52 Ulbs in four clusters and 78 Ulbs in five clusters.
Two companies, Cube Bio-Energy and Sagar Motors, have been chosen to build MSW processing facilities at 52 Ulbs.
The remaining 78 ULB has been grouped into five clusters and tenders floating for freshwater processing.
Nine offer accepted.
But a committee led by the Main Secretary Maud canceled the tender.
The fresh tender must be called bio-mining waste inheritance and waste processing on this 78 ULB, “the report said.
The estimated cost of preparing a new MSW processing facility in 5 ULBS is RS19.5 Crore and Rs 6 Crore for bio-mining units.
Construction STP Also ongoing and is expected to be completed on December 31.
The work by PVCR JV Infra Pvt LTS in IEEja is expected to be completed at the end of November, while it will begin in Kollapur in November.
STPS at 78 ULB is being built at the cost of Rs 140 Crore.
