Hyderabad: Telangana scored a moral victory with the Sungai Krishna (KRMB) Management Board decided to hold a full council meeting on August 27 in Hyderabad.
Telangana has demanded that a full council meeting be held and rejected to attend the coordination committee meeting on the implementation of Gazette notification that completed River Krishna’s jurisdiction and Godavari.
KRMB decided to discuss the various problems raised by Telangana, especially in the share of 50:50 in the waters of Krishna for Telangana and AP, not 34:64 ratio to finalize water sharing problems and accumulation of water share that is not used with the next water.
year.
KRMB will also discuss the transfer of Godavari water with AP.
KRMB said at the previous meeting held in 2017, 2018 and January and June 2020, it was decided that the work arrangement to share Krishna’s waters would each be 66:34 for the AP and Telangana.
“Because the Irrigation Department of the Telangana has requested an ad hoc share arrangement of 50:50, it can be discussed by the Board,” Krmb said.
In the accumulation of unused water, KRMB said he had requested a government view about this.
AP says surplus and water storage that is not used to be a general storage for the country and therefore, needs to be shared with it.
“Because there is no consensus on this issue, this problem was referred to the Ministry of Jal Shakti,” Krmb said.
Meanwhile, Irrigation Engineer Telangana, C Muralidhar wrote a letter to KRMB to provide detailed project reports of copy of the Lift Rayalaseema (RLIS) elevator (RLIS) scheme to Telangana.
