Mysuru: Ahead of the Dasara, the corporation of the development of Karnataka State Tourism (KSTDC) has begun to operate Ambaari Double-Top-Top Hop-On, Hop-Off Bus, starting on Saturday.
Authorities wanted to launch a bus tour starting August 1, but had to postpone it because of the Pandemic Covid-19.
The bus 40 seats, which have been painted with motives representing a rich culture and city heritage, will bring tourists to 35 inheritance and cultural places within two hours.
KSTDC has four buses like that, and each bus will make four trips a day, where tourists will be briefed about sites in English and Kannada, through the audio guide.
The bus, which has completed a trial to ensure that the power cord and tree branches on the route did not prevent their movements, reaching the road at 9:30 a.m.
on Saturday.
They began their journey from the KSTDC office at JLB Road.
The first day saw lukewarm response with services from tourists, with only a few of them traveling on the bus.
However, the authorities say that when the Dasara festival is around, they expect more tourists to enjoy the city in the coming days.
The KSTDC authorities told Ti that on the first trip there were seven tourists, while on the second trip there were only four tourists.
“At first we will run the bus on weekends, and based on a response from tourists, we will run the bus.
