K’taka: 18 calves killed as truck pickup hits electric poles

Hassan: At least 18 calves were killed after a pickup truck hit an electric pole on the roadside in Dyaravappanahalli village in Hassan Karnataka on Wednesday.
According to the police, a total of 41 calves were being transported in the vehicle.
18 calves die in place while 23 injured.
Local Mla KS Lingesh visited the accident site.
According to the police, to avoid police checkpoints, the driver of the pickup truck drove on the village road.
“When driving on the village road, he hit a roadside electric pole.
In the accident, 18 calves died,” police said.
Senior official rushed to place.
Injured calves will be sent to Goshalas in the district and neighbors Mysuru.
“Investigations have been launched,” police said.
