K’Taka: 4.5K new COV case, 51 deaths in the last 24 hours

Bengaluru: In a sign that the third wave of Covid-19 infection backwards, Karnataka on Tuesday only reported 4,452 new cases, a decrease from Monday, although the number of tests carried out also fell.
The total number of active cases in the country stands at 72,414.
However, in 51, the fatality continues to remain relatively high, taking mortality rates for that day up to 5%.
Only more than 88,700 tests were carried out, a large decrease in almost 1.3 lakh tests on Friday.
More than 57,000 of them through the RT-PCR method and the remaining rats.
Districtwise, Bengaluru Urban continued to report most cases and most of death.
On Tuesday reported 2,139 new cases and 17 deaths.
BELOGIVAVI reported 352 cases, while Mysuru reported 222 and Tumakuru 221.
Dakshina Kannada reported seven deaths, Kolar and Tumakuru four, Ballari and MySore three each and Chitradurga, Dharwad and Udupi had two.
The cumulative kasulative in Bengaluru Urban District rose to 17,62,315 cases, in Mysuru Regency increased to 2,27,458 and tumakuru became 1.58,223.
While most deaths were senior citizens, Mysuru reported the death of a three-year-old boy who suffered fever and shortness of breath.
The oldest who died was an 89-year-old woman in Bengaluru Urban.
