Chikkamagaluru: Seven villagers, including three women, who protested from the beginning of the liquor outlet in Chikkamagaluru district, arrested from their home Monday morning on charges of searching the bar and destroying the property worth Rs 6 lakh.
The police said the incident occurred in Emmedoddi-Maslapura Village at Kadur Taluk from the district, around 250 km from Bengaluru.
The people who were arrested were sent to the court detention and were in Chikkamagaluru District Prison.
The villagers accused the police team to secure the arrest of women in a high way, open the door or release the roof to enter their homes.
The SP district Akshay MH denied the allegations and said they followed legal procedures.
A police officer said the protest against the bar began two months ago after Girish, who had a valid liquor license, started a bar and restaurant in Emmedoddi-Maslapura Village at Kadur.

This village is 18 km from Kota Kadur.
