Bengaluru: To curb the spread of Covid-19 infection, the government has banned prayer and mass procession during Muharram, and the installation of Ganesha idols in public places during Ganesha Chaturthi.
The government on Thursday issued guidelines to prevent public hearings during the celebration season that stretched until the end of October.
This guideline prohibits Nature / Panjas Installation in public places as part of Muharram throughout the state.
Bulk procession and prayer are also banned until August 20.
However, the minimum number of people can take part in the ritual related to Muharram while maintaining social distance.
The government has also forbidden the installation of Ganesha’s idol in public places.
This means that no one can establish a pandal or shamiyana.
But there is no prohibition on installing idols in temples.
However, people must be decided mandator and other Covid protocols such as social blasphemy and masks that must be obeyed.
The temple must be disanited every day through the festival.
There are no processes and entertainment programs that are permitted during the installation and soaking of the Ganesha idol, the guidelines are stated.
With a favorable month of Shravana, which marks the start of the celebration season, starting on August 9, many districts including Bengaluru Urban, Tumakuru, Chamarajanagar and Dakshina Kannada have issued a protocol to prevent congregations in the temple and malls.
These include temples that close on weekends.
The state government also ordered weekend wednesday in the border district to limit the spread of the virus from Kerala and Maharashtra.
