K’Taka Bypolls: 4.4L Voters to seal the fate of 19 candidates

Bengaluru: Nearly 4.4 Lakh voters will decide the fate of 19 candidates in the magnification to the Hangal and Sindgi Assembly seat on Saturday.
Polling starts at 7am and will continue until 19:00.
Bypolls have been required when the chair falls vacuum after the death of the SINDGI JD LEGISLATOR MC Managuli and BJP CM UDATION from Hangal.
High voltage campaigns see leaders from the three large parties making personal attacks with each other.
While Chairman of the Minister of Basavaraj Bommai and its predecessor BS Yediyurappa launched a joint campaign, Canvassing Congress was led by opposition leader Siddaramaiiah and KPCC President DK Shivakumar.
Former HD Deve Gowda Prime Minister and former CM HD Kumaraswamy from JD (s) spend more time campaigning in Sindgi.
This election is important for the three parties to assess and reaffirm its influence ahead of 2023 elections, but more important for Bommai to prove that he can step into his predecessor’s big shoes and former CM BS Yediyurappa.
The central leadership will keep the watch close to the performance to consider whether Bommai can continue to lead the party to the election year.
Because one of two constituents is under the district of his house, it is also a prestige battle for CM.
Meanwhile, Congress also tried extra because he had lost most of Bypolls lately.
For JD, this is a problem of relevance in northern Karnataka where the party base is minimal and also to find out whether regional clothing gets minority support.
Having Muslim candidates at two Bypolls, it is very important for the duo of the sons to save the face by securing a respectable division of voice if it does not maintain the Sindgi seat which was previously held by the delay in managing their MLA MC.
Normsall Covid settings have been made to conduct polls safely in the background of the pandemic, the Election Commission said.
Head of Karnatakaka Election Officer (CEO) Manoj Kumar Meena said that they ensured that Covid norms were followed at the voting office with a health staff represented at every voter location.
“The last hour will be reserved for covid positive voters,” Meena said.
