Bengaluru: Chairman of Karnataka Minister B Yediyurappa on Tuesday directing officials to accelerate Irrigation Bhadra and Yetinahole over and project drinking water and solve it in the specified time.
During the review meeting with officials, Yediyurappa asked the official to complete the first phase of the Yattinahole project at the end of July by releasing water to Vedavathi Valley.
So far, Rs 9,003.86 Crore has been spent below it, said the office of the minister of chairman in a statement.
This project will provide drinking water to more than 68 lakh people from 6,557 villages owned 29 Taluk from seven South Karnataka districts, the statement reads.
Furthermore said that the Bhadra Project Declaration above as a national project was in the final stage and the approval of the central cabinet was waiting.
“The problem has been discussed with the central minister on the telephone and was asked to approve the same thing soon.
If necessary, we will meet with the Central Minister personally and insist on approval,” said Minister of Chief was quoted as saying.
The Tumakuru District, Chitradurga and Davangere will benefit from the project, the statement reads.
Emphasizing that irrigation projects must be resolved without a gap, Yediyurappa warns strict actions against officials if there is a difference.
