Bengaluru: Complaints by the Karnataka State Contractor Association to the Office of the Prime Minister (PMO) have turned on the worst secrets in the state administration – corruption that is rooted, institutionalized in how the state public infrastructure project is tendered, given and run.
It also highlights the Nexus Contractor-Politicians and the Kickback level of the state machine allegedly extracts from contractors.
Towards the 2018 assembly poll in Karnataka, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Branded Congress Government was led by Siddaramaiiah as the government “10 percent commission”.
In 2019, during the Poll Lok Sabha campaign in Koppal, he dubbed the Congress Government-JD now as “20 percent of Commission Commission”.
Now, on charges of the Contractor Association, the Commission seems to have increased sharply, in just a few years, because of the allegations that politicians demanded 30% cut money to provide projects in addition to 5% -7% to delete payments.
The association wrote to PMO on Thursday, accused rooted corruption.

“We face harassment from ministers, selected representatives, officials and others ranging from junior engineers to the minister,” D Kempanna, President of the Association, told TII.
In the past eight years, he claimed around 15 contractors who died because they killed themselves because they could not clean loans due to delays in payment.

Official sources said complaints to PMO were unexpected because the contractor had never dared to oppose very strong political and bureaucratic bosses.
“We know the consequences we will face by making this accusation, but we are ready for it and we have strong evidence to prove it,” said Kempanna.
However, he did not reveal the names of politicians and officials who demanded bribery but claimed that corruption existed At all levels, especially in PWD, water resources and BBMP projects.
