Bengaluru: The State Government Thursday officially issued orders stating compensation of each RS 1 lakh for poor families who lost members of adult income to Covid-19.
Chairman of the BS Minister Yediyurappa has announced this before.
According to the order, the BPL family will only receive Rs 1 lakh even if it loses two members.
Compensation will be given only to households that meet the criteria set by the Covid-19 Technical Advisory Committee.
District administration will be responsible for gathering details of those who die, including their medical history.
District medical officers will examine documents before sending them to the relevant official.
Meanwhile, the government is considering releasing farmer loans who died because of Covid-19.
Loans taken from the District Credit Cooperative (DCC) or Apex Banks will be considered.
“We are still gathering information about the number of people who died because of Covid after taking loans, quantities, payments and balance.
The decision will be taken in two to three days,” said Minister of Cooperation St Somashekar said on Thursday.
