Bengaluru: A 15-year-old orphaned girl who missed her grandparents and departed from Bengaluru to his village in the Kodagu district to meet them has been reunited with his family after almost two weeks.
The girl lost her way after walking for 20 km and the police tracked it in eight days after exploring the recordings of 250 CCTV cameras.
The girl had lost her parents and grew up by the mother’s grandparents in the Kodagu district village.
The grandparents thought that the girl had to get good education and shift it to relatives in Banashankari at the beginning of 2020.
The 15-year-old girl decided to walk 270 km with her grandparents, the girl was too tied to her grandparents and wanted to return them.
But grandparents insisted he had to finish his education.
Go without choice, the girl decided to walk 270 km to with her grandparents.
He left his house at 9 am on August 21.
Without money or luggage, he walked from Banashankari, took MySore Road and reached Kommaghatta, close to at 19:00.
The darkness that enveloped and hunger forced him to knock on the door of a house, ask for water.
The homemaker was surprised to hear the story of the girl.
His two daughters decided to protect the girl.
At that time, the girl’s relatives had filed a complaint to the Banakakari police.
A team led by the HP Puttaswamy Inspector and Sub-Inspector Manjunath started the search.
“We scan recording from more than 250 CCTV cameras, starting from Banashankari.
We found it on Jalan MySuru.
After reaching the cengeri and heading towards Kommaghatta, he lost his track.
With the help of the photo, we began to ask the residents,” said an officer.
At that time, housewives and family were in a dilemma when the girl begged them not to tell the police.
Before the family can arrive at a decision, the police knocked on their door on August 29.
The girl rushed to the rehabilitation center, near Nimhans.
With the help of officials from the Child Welfare Committee, the police contacted his grandparents.
Finally, the minor was reunited with them.
The girl and her grandparents went to their village on September 5.
