Hampi: The ambitious ‘Hampi by Night’ project is ready to take off after a delay for a decade in Hampi, the World Heritage Site.
The many awaited projects from the monument select Hampi is finally revived.
It will take visitors through a detailed tour of around 20 main monuments managed by Hampi World Heritage Area Management Authority (Hwama).
The RS 11 Crore project is the idea of Hwama and the Department of Tourism.
Even though it was answered after several deadlines, the trial was successfully carried out on Sunday night.
Commissioner Hwama Siddarameshwar Hiremath said ‘Hampi by Night’ is about illuminating the monument chosen on the World Heritage site.
“It will take visitors through a heritage tour of 20 monuments.
There will be a laser-and-sound performance in every place.
The show aims to explain the rich history and the importance of a good vijayanagara royal monument in an interesting way,” he said.
He added that tourists can take a legacy tour between 19:00 and 21:30, starting from the Virupaksha temple area.
“We are ready to start the ‘Hampi by Night’ project.
The trial run was successfully carried out on Sunday night,” Siddarameshwar said.
Pavan Kumar Malipati, Chairman of Hwama and Ballari DC said the project was initiated by Bengaluru-based innovative lighting in 2010.
“But delayed for various reasons.
It will be launched on October 9, 2020.
But because of the pandemic, it was postponed,” he added.
