K’Taka: Improvement in Children Join RSS Shakhas

With the school closed, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) said he had seen an increase in the number of children (10 to 16 years) who joined Shakhas in the state.
The data distributed by the RSS functionaries also showed the amount of Shakha which grew by 5% despite a pandemic in the past two years.

According to the estimated Sangh Parivar, from 4,404 Shaka in 2019 in Karnataka, the number has increased to 4,614 in 2021.

Officials say children only want to spend quality time with peers.
However, while the amount of Shakhas increased from 1,108 to 1,363 in North Karnataka, in Dakshina Prantha (South and Central Karnataka) the number was down from 3,296 in 2019 to 3,255 in 2021.

Raghvendra Kagwad, local RSS officials in Bellagavi, said the number of “notes” children joined RSS Shakhas during the pandemic.
“We even started 50 more Shakhas – 33 every day and 18 weekly Shakhas – to fulfill this request,” he said.
Before the pandemic, Shaka for children at night to see the presence of around 10-12 children but now it has reached 25 to 30, Kagwad said.
Local units have formed new shaka in places where high demand and to reach masses.
In North Karnataka under the ‘subodha’ banner, the Sangh provides free tuition fees to children which are great attractions.
In Bengaluru, the Bala Bharati program has also received a good response.
In Dakshina Kannada, Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, Dakshina Ksehtriya Karakarini Sadasya, said even in Shakha just opened, a number of good children took part in activities.
But no one can provide an increase in the right amount.
CR Narendran from Karnataka Uttara Prontha Protha, said: “Children are reluctant to go home at night because of the activities offered by Parivar.
During the locking, our workers learned in college were asked to take school money for children in their area with the subodha name.
In addition to mathematics, physics and other subjects, they also provide moral education.
“In Udupi, Raichur, Uttara Kannada and Kalaburagi too, the number of children who joined increased, said RSS source.
RSS officials said because of the extraordinary social work during a pandemic, people wanted to join them.
