K’taka jumbo takes part in the bonalu procession

Hyderabad: For the first time, an elephant (Ambari) from the state of Karnataka took part in the Bonalu procession, organized by the Telangana Government, as part of Lashkar Bonalu in Secuntabad on Monday.
The elephant procession continues for three decades as part of tradition, and every year, Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad officials are used to send elephants, at the request of the endowments department.
However, this year, the new elephant, Menaka, was taken from Veerabhadra Shiva Math, near Raichur in Karnataka and after the Department of Endowment Telangana, had secured ‘no Certificate of Objection’ (NOC), from Nehru Zoological Park.

The procession began at 11 am, immediately after the ‘Rangam’ (Oracle Prediction) event was completed and concluded at around 19:30 a.m.
The glittering elephant procession was carried out on by-Lanes Temple Ujini Mahakali in Secunderabad.
For this, all commercial companies, enroute this procession, have been closed, for the past five days.
All procession went peacefully and with this, Lashkar Bonalu, was finished, the executive official of the Temple of Mahakali Ujini, Manohar Reddy told Tii.
Jumbo will also participate in Bonalu held in two other temples including the Nalla Pochamma temple, which was held at Karwan on August 1 and the Temple of Akkanna Madanna, on the Bowli day on 2.
Another important event in Lashkar Bonalu, ‘Rangam’ was held around 10.30 am in the inside of the temple.
Oracle Swarna Latha, who spoke while doing ‘Rangam, said that he would protect people from Pandemic and Telangana farmers not to worry about rain.
He also assured that he would support people and bring them forward and never disappoint.
