Hubballi: Karnataka, who has chosen 25 parliamentarians, the highest for BJP in South India, has registered the lowest electrification of the railway line compared to other southern states.
South Western Railway (SWR) has 3,037 kilometers (RKM) in Karnataka.
Of the total 3,603 KMS routes, SWR only registered 40.13% of electrification as of December 31, 2021.
Stand 17 of the 18 train zones in the country.
Goa, where the SWR has 189 RKMs, has not received an electrification.
According to a document released by Railways India on its website on January 17, Karnataka stood 23rd with electrification with 42.49% of the electric train route.
Telangana was at 11th with 88.68% electrification, Andhra Pradesh was 13 with 85.62%, Kerala on the 14th with 81.82% and Tamil Nadu on 16.44%.
The national average electrification rate was 73.9% as of December 31, 2021.
Arun Javgal, an activist Kannada in Bengaluru, said Mysuru is the country’s first prince country to have a train organization and put the line of thousands of KMS.
“This organization joined the Indian Railway in 1950 and since then Karnataka received a motorbike treatment at the train facilities.
In the current scenario, all of our 28 MPS failed to ensure the electrification of the railway,” he said.
Kalyan Karnataka Grahakara Vedike President Sunil Kulkarni emphasizes the need to enter electrification directly from the DPR’s stage while building a new Raliway route or a lined line to minimize costs.
The growth of ‘25% in 5 years’ Krishna Prasad KN, Member, Karnataka Railway Vedike, Bengaluru, is referred to as progress because electrification is only 17% in the country five years ago.
“We have seen a growth of 25% in five years.
In addition, the office of the Head of Project Director, Electrification Railway was established in Bengaluru a year ago.
So, we expect 100% electrification in Karnataka at the end of 2023, such as guaranteed by the train ministry,” he said.
