K’Taka: Man loses RS 1.2 lakh for online loan scam

Mangaluru: Someone allegedly lost nearly 1.2 lakh, in phase, in alleged online fraud.
In the complaint registered at the Economic Crime and Narcotics Police Station (CEN), he stated that he first received a call on October 19 from someone who said he was a representative from Aditya Birla Finance Company with a loan offer of Rs 12 Lakh.

The caller then connects it to someone else in a conference call.
After the call, the complainant who wants to utilize the loan send a PAN number and the aadhaar card details to the WhatsApp number sent to Him.
On October 23, the complainant received a call from a life insurance representative of Bharti Axa, who asked him to pay a half-year RS 60,000 with an additional Rs 2,700 as a GST on the link sent to the number.
He transferred money from two credit cards.
