Bengaluru: Head of the Karnataka Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Tuesday prohibits the practice of giving bouquets, shawls, bouquets, and memorabilia in government events, calling it a ‘unnecessary expenditure’.
The government in circular says Kannada books can be given instead.
Head of Secretary of P Ravi Kumar issued a circular on this effect in the direction of the Chairman of the Bakavaraj Bommai Minister.

All government heads and businesses have been asked to comply with instructions, he said.
