Bengaluru: Congress on Friday demanded the probe into alleged Bitcoin Scam by a Supreme Court judge who sat down, claiming the police gave ‘drugs to change the mind’ to the Shepherd Srikrishna Ramesh aka sriki in detention and was destroyed with evidence.
The party said it would move SC whether the state government failed to order an investigation.
Priyank Kharge, former Minister and Congress MLA, share several legal documents with the media to suppress various charges, which, which, however, cannot be independently verified by TOI.
Kharge said that on January 11, 2021, accused Sriki’s father, in his application in front of the court, has stated that police officers gave ‘drugs that change his mind’ to his son in police custody.
“Sriki himself has told the judge he used to take alprazolam when he was detained.
If so, how did he get the medicine? Who gave them to him and why?” Kharge asked.
At the time of the investigation, Kharge was allegedly, the sriki wallet had 186 Bitcoin, the current market value was around Rs 100 Crore, while accused of the oath statement before the Cyber cell police claimed that he hacked more than 5,000 Bitcoin Rs 2,500 Crore.
“Where is Bitcoin now? How many of it has been found by the police? The government must answer,” he said.
Kharge also accused the state government trying to stop this case.
“Police arrested sriki in November 2020 and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) only knew about it on February 15.
Why not declare the police stated that they knew that sriki hacked several websites and bitcoin exchanges and deceived rupees,” he asked.
Siddaramaiiah’s question of the leader of the PMOPPosition in the Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiiah questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi to advise CM Bommai against worrying about Bitcoin’s allegations.
