K’taka to start class 9-12 in the dists with low participants

Bengaluru: The Karnataka Government on Saturday decided to reopen the school (grades 9 and 10) and universities (I and II PU) from August 23 in the districts where the covid-19 test level is below 2%.
It also decided not to force fresh restrictions to curb the spread of Covid-19 infection and maintain the status quo on key-unlock guidelines in the state.
The decision occurred after CM Basilvaraj Bommai held a meeting in Bengaluru with health experts and officials reopened schools with the possibility of the third wave of Covid-19 in the state.
The district’s frontpiece level as on August 22 will guide the decision about the reopening of the school.
As on Saturday, the level of participants test in five districts – Dakshina Kannada (4%), Chikkamagaluru (3.2%), Kodagu (2.1%), Udupi (2.4%) and Hassan (2.3%) – Above 2%.
CM gives authority to BBMP to take strict steps.
CM said schools and colleges will be closed if their district reports more than 2% of the level of progress.
They will be allowed to reopen after the situation increases.
Parents and school employees must be vaccinated against Covid-19 before entering the school building.
CM has ratified the BBMP commissioner to take strict steps if the peponyitivity of the test violates 2% in the city of Bengaluru and occupancy of oxygenated beds in Benga Health officials said this requires monitoring since the second wave has not been tapered.
“When the first wave subsided, the Daily Caseload dropped to 100-150.
Now, around 1,500 are the cause of worries,” he added.
The government has decided to develop the Covid Management Plan in the district and increase vaccination and testing by focusing on targeted districts.
“I’ll go to Delhi next week to impress the central leaders to supply at least 1 dose of crore vaccines every month, not 65 lakh now,” he said.
The meeting decided to open a laboratory sequencing genomes in Bengaluru, MySuru, Shivamogga, Beghagavi, Hubballi and Kalaburagi in the next three weeks.
