K’Taka will not revoke the APMC Amendment Act on this session

BELAGUGIVI: The State Government has decided not to revoke the amendment of Karnataka agriculture to produce marketing law (APMC) in the ongoing legislative session in Bellagavi in line with the announcement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the center will revoke three controversial agricultural laws.
Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha-Hashiru Sene announced protests and that it would lay down the siege to Suvarna Vidhana Soudha here on Monday.
Cooperation Minister ST Somashekhar said the state would continue with carnataka agriculture to produce marketing (amendments) of the law, 2020 that limit the strength of the local agricultural product marketing committee and allow farmers to sell products-apmcs outside.
“The current law is the interest of farmers because it provides the freedom to sell their products anywhere inside or outside the APMC market.
Central policy will not have an influence on state law and we will not change it,” he said.
Soon after Modi’s announcement, CM Basilvaraj Bommai said he was waiting for instructions from the top brass party and then making a decision.
The state government in May 2020 announced regulations to change APMC (regulation and development) acting which imagined opening the agricultural market after the center adopted the agricultural and marketing of livestock marketing (promotion and facilitation), 2017.
Amendment was enforced in January 2021.
Ryots planned to launching agitation such as Delhi along with amendments, the state government imposed land reform law that allows non-farmers who buy agricultural land and anti-cat cutting laws as well.
Stakeholders, including agricultural activists, suspected the central step to revoke agricultural laws and enabled BJP-ruled countries to continue possible strategies to continue reform through the state government.
“Agriculture and cooperation is the subject of the country and this center apparently takes advantage of this to carry out anti-farmer law.
We will launch protests at the Delhi agitation range,” said Yogendra Yadav, Sawaja India President and Samyukta leader Kisan Morcha.
