Thiruvananthapuram: APJ Technology University Abdul Kalam in Thiruvananthapuram has begun to help develop technology to make cement bricks from rice husk ash.
Universities have taken projects for Kalady Rice Millers Consortium Pvt Ltd (KRMC), a consortium of 36 rice factory owners established as a general facilitation center for the rice milling industry.
This center was established under the Ministry of Featured Schema Micro Micro Small Enterprises-Cluster (MSE-CDP).
This project will take advantage of the skills of faculty members from all universities related to universities.
This project is facilitated by the university industry attachment.
Padi husk is considered an alternative source for expensive cement manufacturing, intensive energy, and spends natural resources.
