Written by news2in

Kuwait City: Kuwait Women will be permitted to register in the military in combat roles for the first time after years limited to the role of civil, said the army Tuesday.
Defense Minister Hamad Jaber Al-Ali al-Sabah said the door had been opened for women to join various combat rankings, including as officers, the Kuwaiti Armed Forces tweeted.
“The time has come for Kuwait women to be given the opportunity to enter the Kuwaitit military side by side with my brothers and sisters,” the Minister said in the comments brought by the Kuna State News Agency.
He expressed trust in “abilities …
and their ability to bear trouble”.
In the initial phase, applicants will serve in the field of medical and military support.
Kuwait women get the right to choose in 2005 and have been active both in the cabinet and parliament – even though they did not get chairs in the parliament at this time.
Unlike other Gulf countries, the Kuwait Parliament enjoys legislative strength and parliamentarians have been known to challenge the government and Royals.
