Nick Kyrgios said he was “shy” by the way Novak Djokovic had been treated in Australia after Serbia won the court’s challenge to remain in the country for the defense of an Australian title that was open.
Djokovic’s fight for his medical release from Covid-19 vaccination may not end because he still faces threats being held by the Australian Government for the second time and deported despite a court decision.
Public opinion in Australia, who fought against the wave of omicron infection and where more than 90% of the population of adults doubled, mostly opposed Djokovic, who had confirmed that he was inexperienced.
“I feel quite embarrassed as an Australian athlete who looks what this person has done for us and sports,” said Kyrgios in the Instagram video on Tuesday where he also criticized the media.
“I just don’t think it’s true how we handle it but the media likes to do it, like dividing and I don’t want this to take from the great results of other Australians.” Kyrgios, who came out of the classic Sydney tennis this week after testing positive Covid-19, said he felt fine and took all the precautions needed before the Australian Open, which began on January 17.
“It’s not ideal, one week.
The Australians open, but I did everything my power to feel fine and go there and hopefully give you all the shows,” said Kyrgios.
