Jaipur: A laborer, who was buried after the sand surrendered to him in the lower building near the Brahmpuri Khurra area under the Nahargarh police station on Thursday night saved late at night.
His condition was said to be serious.
Sho Devendra Kumar said that workers, Hanuman Sharma, were buried under the sand while digging the construction of pillars for a house.
Rescue surgery was stopped late at night after there was fears that it could cause structural damage to the nearest building.
The civil defense team was sent to the scene as soon as the Nahargarh police received the first report of the tragedy around 4pm.
“The incident occurred in the Fakiro Ki Dhani area where construction work was underway when the accident occurred.
The workers were digging when the sand suddenly hit them,” said a witness.
Mahendra Sevda from the civil defense team told TII that workers must be buried at least under 15 feet.
Rescuers say that there are several multistored buildings that are adjacent to that inhibit their surgery.
“We have started digging the basement to look for Sharma when some debris fall from the nearest houses.
This poses a direct danger to the structure of another house because the rescue operation must stop,” said an official who is part of the rescue effort.
Locals told officials that at least two other workers were present near the moment of the site before the incident, but managed to escape without injury.
Some JCB machines and other equipment are moved to the site.
Until late at night, the savior struggled to continue the operation to save workers.
An official told Tii that they had sought technical advice from disaster assistance.
“Residents of the nearest building may have to be evacuated to ensure that there are no unwanted situations,” the official said.
