New Delhi: Minister of Labor Santosh Gangswar on Wednesday said that he had resigned from the Union cabinet in front of the scheduled cabinet reshuffle.
Rejig training is scheduled to be held at 6pm at Rashtrapati Bhawan.
Gangwar, who holds the position of the Minister of State (independent charge) for labor and work resigned from his post this morning.
When asked if he had resigned from the position of minister of labor, Gangwar answered affirmatively.
“Yes, I have resigned,” he told the PTI news agency.
He, however, said he did not realize what his new role in the government.
This will be the first reshuffle at the Council of Ministers by Prime Minister Narendra Modi because he assumes costs for the second term in May 2019.
Ahead of the cabinet expansion on Wednesday night, the minister of meeting the Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence.
The prime minister is expected to bring a young face and give representatives to various social groups and regions in the reshuffle.
