Times News Network Varanasi: One worker was killed while others suffered a large injury when thick glass sheets fell on them during the unloading of Van Pickup at the Kashi Vishwanath Dham (corridor) project in the Chowk police station area on Saturday night.
District Judge Kaushal Raj Sharma said the vendor had arranged workers to reduce glass sheets.
The glass sheet was being lowered when they accidentally fell on workers, killing one of them.
“The trust of the KV Temple has given Rs 2 Lakh as a relief directly with a family who died, while efforts were made to ensure more financial assistance,” DM said.
According to officials, the Consignment of Glass Sheets has reached the DHAM KV Project Area of the Prasagraj in Van Pickup on Saturday night.
Vendors have arranged eight workers from the Maidagin market to dismantle the glass sheet.
The workers were allowed to enter the project area after security personnel were deployed in the Kashi Vishwanath Complex Gyanvapi which was very sensitive to collecting their personal details.
When the workers were dismantled, the glass sheet slipped from their hands and fell in Sinku (25) the Baburi and Vinod region (25) from Jalipur in the Chandauli district.
Security personnel immediately saved the duo and rushed to the SPG Division hospital, where the doctor stated Sintu as in demand.
Arriving officials in action to be informed and DM also reached the place.
After the initial investigation, officials called it an accident.
DM said that financial assistance for the deceased relatives was given by immediate temple trust and the right treatment of injured workers was confirmed.
In a three-month gap, this is the second incident where workers lose their lives in the project area.
Previously, on June 1, two workers from Malda Regency in West Bengal were killed and six others were injured when the roof of the building was dilapidated and partially dismantled in the project area had collapsed and they were buried under their debris.
