Lack of Bidder Slap Revamp of NH-8 Link Road

Gurgaon: The problem of contractors who do not want to work with the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has delayed the construction of stretching between Rampura Chowk in NH8 and Pataudi Road.
It has been more than a year since GMDA approved a proposal to increase the long road 5.6km in the December 2020 meeting, but had not allocated work so far.
According to GMDA officials, the project tender has floated threefold, in April, July and September last year.
“We have invited three times this time, but there is no sufficient response from the bidder.
However, in the latest tenders, we have received five offers, who are now in evaluation,” said Chief Executive GMDA (CEO) Sudhir Rajpal.on finally got the bidder For the project, he said, “the amount of this higher bidder Stretching, however, cannot be ready for commuters before the end of 2023.
In addition to connecting two busiest road networks near Gurgaon-NH8 and Pataudi Road, stretching has several condos, malls, markets and other commercial spaces.
GMDA officials have proposed improvements due to the condition of the stretch of “dilapidated”, which was revealed in a visual survey.
A further study of the corridor has shown that more than 12,000 vehicles moved between Rampura Chowk and Patudi every day, including 1,800 trucks, multi-axle trucks, tractors, and heavy construction vehicles.
In road conditions, officials said that the survey had revealed that “crust” was not enough to meet the traffic burden in the future and that some parts of the stretch have deteriorated already.
As part of the GMDA plan, the corridor will get three majors and six minor intersections, as well as “flexible sidewalks” which will likely last for 20 years, officials said.
The entire project tends to cost the authority of almost Rs 56.98 Crores.
