Lack of Dry Ransum Hits Midday Meals in Schools

Jaipur: Mid-day food in most government schools in the state has been affected because of the supply of inadequate dry rations.
The latest case comes from a government school in the Jamwa Ramgarh Jaipur block.
The number of packages of rations received by these schools is less than the number of students registered.
This has resulted in irregularities and parents have begun to complain.
Motilal Meena, a government principal in Jamwa Ramgarh, Aandhi, said contacting the authorities after they received a fewer packages.
“We have been asked to delay midday food distribution until all packages are sent.
Decisions have been taken to keep parents protesting,” Meena said.
Many school principals from all Rajasthan have written to block education officers about this issue.
Some schools receive rations only for 50 percent of students.
Narayan Singh Sisodia, President Rajasthan School Evam Pancayati Raj Shikyaki Sangh said, “This is a serious problem because parents protest.
It has become a big headache for the principals to decide whether they should continue with food.
The government must immediately resolve this problem.
“However, the Commissioner to eat midday Bhanwar Lal said the problem had appeared because of technical errors.
“Ransum was supplied for July 2020 to March 2021.
Students registered in July 2020 are considered, but those who take the entrance ticket will not be considered for distribution,” Commissioner said.
New orders are placed to add the remaining students and their rations will be supplied for a week, he said.
