Of the total, 14.14 lakh tons of coal were sent to the electricity sector.
Ranch Based on Cil Subsidiary Central Boalfields Limited (CCL) has sent 1.74 lakh tons of coal on average since October 1, while Bharat Coking Coal BALAL LIMITED (BCCL)-based Dhanbad (BCCL) has sent coal 66,000 tons in the same period of time .
.
Together, CCL and BCC meet the daily coal needs of several electricity companies such as Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), National Thermal Power Corporation and Bengal Bengal Electric Electric State (WBSEDCL) and other PSUs.
“We are on the right track.
In 10-15 more days, our coal supply will be better.
Cumulatively, all subsidiaries CIL surpassed the Ministry’s Daily Target (Coal Union) on Saturday,” said Chairperson of CCL , M Prasad told TI on Sunday.
People in CCL and BCCL said coal deficiencies, which have been marked by power producers in the past few days, are mostly caused by a lack of long view.
Some Cil customers such as NTPC, Bharatiya Rail Bijlee Company Limited, Nabinagar Power Generating Company Limited and NTPC Tamil Nadu Energy Company Limited Write to CCL, BCCL and Indian trains that urge them to limit the number of trains that are being sent to them since locking stops Production and industry activities in April 2020.
“Consumers of power are reluctant to buy coal until June this year,” said a senior official of Cil on anonymity.
“When the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic subsided and the industry was not locked gradually, suddenly there was a sudden wave in demand for electricity from September and so on.
However, the company does not have enough coal stock,” Officially added.
In addition to the extended rainy season this year, coal mining and shipping from the underground and open cast mine hit by a back-to-back cyclone storm that fills the mine with water and sweeps the transport road.
At present, CCL and BCCL have a stock of 20 million tons of coal.
“However, they are coal carpets (which subside to the soft earth while guarded in the open hole after mining) and thus, electricity companies complained about their quality,” other officials said.
Meanwhile, Cil said the mining and shipping had increased by 20% of FY 2020-21.
“Compared to last year, cumulative delivery of CIL has increased by 53.24 million tons (MT).
CCL shipments have increased by 24% (7.4 MT) while BCCL has increased by 46% (5.05 MT),” Prasad, which is also a BCCL acting cmd, said.
