Ahmedabad: No Coronavirus patients who died in Gujarat due to lack of medical oxygen during the second wave of pandemic, Minister Vijay Rupani claimed on Wednesday.
The Union government told Rajya Sabha the previous day that there was no death due to lack of oxygen “specially reported” by the States and the United States during the second wave of this year.
“No Coronavirus patient did not die of lack of oxygen in Gujarat.
The hospital in this country treats more than 8.5 lakh patients during the second wave.
Of this second number, 8.25 lakh patients returned after recovering,” the Ministerial Minister said told reporters in Junagadh when asked about controversy.
“We have appointed several hospitals to treat Covid-19 patients.
There is no one hospital that reported deaths from oxygen deficiency.
We have made adequate arrangements for oxygen supply.
Opposition parties misleading people with false accusations,” Rupani added.
On Tuesday, the Congress has accused the Minister of Health for Health Bharati Pravin Pawar from Parliament which is misleading by giving “false information” that there is no death due to lack of oxygen.
Previously on that day, neighboring health ministers Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra also refused that every patient died in their state because the supply of oxygen in the hospital was running out.
