Mumbai: The availability of free Covid-19 vaccination was significantly dipped, with only 4,005 to get JAB in BMC centers on Saturday.
Overall, 35,484 people took vaccines on Saturday, with 29,354 taking shots in private centers.
Of the 4,005 that got a vaccine at the center of BMC, 210 were people riding on a bed that had been vaccinated in their homes.
Usually on Saturday, the BMC register records the number of recipients but due to lack of low number of vaccines this time.
On Friday, BMC said due to lack of vaccines, it would only operate 34 of 315 public vaccination centers.
In July, public vaccination was canceled for five days due to shortcomings.
“We hope to get more inventory on Sundays and must be able to move them to the center on the same day,” “said Supplementary City Commissioner Suresh Kakani.
Although there will be no public vaccination on Sundays, Kakani says BMC hopes to offer more vaccines on Monday.
The state government said 3,45,338 took JAB on Friday.
